I feel rewarded

Two of my students from Spring semester found me on Facebook.
One of them said he misses my class every Tuesday! He also said that he enjoyed learning the things I taught in the second half of the semester and regrets that he didn't take serious interest from the beginning of the semester.

I feel I have achieved one of my teaching missions today: making a student (that too a non-major student) interested in learning the subject.
They usually are only interested in completing the course as a degree requirement. Some of them are also interested in the grades sometimes :)

u reminded me of my early profession!!!

I was a teacher to begin with and now i miss that job... where u r really respected and u feel at times that yes... u r rewarded.

A student of mine was so rigid, he got a job in Shoppers Stop as Floor Manager, that too Men's Casual... now whenever i used to visit the store he used to touch my feet (dandavat literaly) and i used to feel so embarrased...

but i always felt proid within that yes... i have atleast done something for my students and they recognize me!!!

Ahhh... those were good days :)

So good hai teacher... keep doing the good work and more often u will feel rewarded...

Cheers!!!

Thanks for visiting!

@Ankur: Dandavat..wow! Thankfully American students won't do that :)
Yes it feels really good. Unfortunately, I will not be teaching for sometime as my next job will be only research. But I hope I get to do it again in few years..as a professor :)

@Arunima: Totally.

@Samby:Thanks Samby.
Btw, please don't delete your blog. You are not at all a bad influence. The posts in controversy were very eye-opening to me at least. I am fortunate to never experience any such brutal thing, but your posts taught me to keep an open eye in future when I have kids. So please don't delete everything.

@Ashu: Hey, thanks to you too :)
